Placing an order with SOOP is very simple.  We just need to know where you want to order from, what you want to order and how you want to get it.  The format for writing up an order is:

Restaurant Name
Items You Want to Order (on separate lines)
Pickup or Delivery

Here’s one rule to make sure your order is accurate:  Separate each command on a new line just like the format above.  We also suggest specifying quantities when you are adding your items.  The more descriptive you are, the more accurate your order will be.

Here is an example if you are looking to place a pickup order from Joe’s Pizza.  Just type:

Joe’s Pizza
1 Large Pie with Sausage and Peppers
1 Side Salad with Oil and Vinegar
1 Garlic Knots
1 Liter or Soda
Pickup

If you are ordering from one of your Favorites that you set up during registration, you can replace the name of the business with the label you have chosen for it. For example, if Joe’s Pizza was added as a favorite with the label “Joe’s”, just type Joe’s on the first line of the message.

If you want to have the order delivered to your default address, just replace Pickup with Delivery.  You can also specify that you want it delivered to one of your alternate addresses.  For example, during the sign-up process, you may have added a work address and labeled it “Work”.  Just say Deliver to Work.

That’s all there is to it.  Congratulations, now you can just SOOP it!

By the way, if you are really trying to order from Joe’s Pizza, it’s only going to work if there is a Joe’s Pizza in your area that uses SOOP.  We’re just using that name as an example.  But if there is a Joe’s Pizza, think of this help section as free publicity!

Look. It’s good to try new things every once in a while.  If you are not sure what to order, just ask for a menu.  There are a couple of ways to do this.

First, specify which restaurant you want to select by just typing the restaurant name.  SOOP will ask you what you want to order from that restaurant.   It will also tell you, right there, that you can just say menu if you are not sure.  So go ahead, just type Menu.  SOOP will send you back their menu, as a PDF, Picture File or Web URL.

As an example, type:

Joe’s Pizza

SOOP will respond and ask you what you want from Joe’s Pizza.  You can type Menu if you are not sure.  Go ahead and Type:

Menu

Wait.. There’s an easier way to do this. You don’t need to go through all that above. Just type in this format:

Restaurant Menu

For example:

Joe’s Pizza Menu

Now, why didn’t I just tell you the easier way from the beginning?

Oh and if you are actually asking for a menu from Joe’s Pizza and don’t get one, that’s probably because we are just using that name as an example and there isn’t a SOOP restaurant near you by the name of Joe’s Pizza, but feel free to open one up. And don’t forget to sign up with SOOP!

If you are like most people who order in, you probably place the same order over and over again.  You can add any completed SOOP order as a favorite and label it anything you want so you don’t have to rewrite that order each time.  Just type the label you chose as a favorite and SOOP will know where you are ordering from and what you want to order.  You will still have to specify whether you want to pick it up or have it delivered though.

To add an order as a favorite, you just type:

Favorite {order number}

Or (for those of you who are emoji lovers):

❤️ {order number}

You have to replace with the actual order number assigned by SOOP that you want to become your favorite.

SOOP will then reply asking you to give it a label.  Type something that you will remember (like “The Usual”).

So for example, if you just placed an order that was completed and want to save it as a favorite and the order number was 1223.  Just type:

Favorite 1223

or

❤️ 1223

Then when SOOP asks you to label it, give it a good name that you will remember, like:

Joe’s Pizza Usual

The next time you want to place that order, just type “Joe’s Pizza Usual” instead of writing out an entire order.  No need to include the restaurant since the Favorite already knows the restaurant.
You can add additional items under your favorite label if you want to add them to the order. That’s all there is to it!
